Arusha, Tanzania
1 hour after Breakfast
Today, we shall pick you up from your hotel and drive to the Great Serengeti National Park (14,763 sq km or 5,700 sq mile’s) with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives. Serengeti National Park is a home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocodiles, and more. A lot of birds include the Eurasia migrants.
These three days will be spent exploring Serengeti National Park. Remember this is the migration safari, so as Serengeti is very large as your game drives will depend on the move of the migrants, your guide knows very well how to locate the herds. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the ‘Great Migration’, over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the rains. In October and November, they travel from the mountains of the north, southwards to the plains seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June the herds then make their return ward journey. Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall.
Early morning breakfast followed by a game drive. We will later drive to Ngorongoro Crater where you will descend into the Crater floor (19.2 km of diameter, 610 m deep, 304 sq km) for game drives. All the Big five Rhino Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, and Elephant live in this wonderful caldera, others are Zebra, Hippo, Wildebeest, Hyena and more…Birds include flamingos on the Soda lake, Geese, Storks, Vultures and more. Break for lunch at Ngoitoktok spring Picnic sites it will be an unforgettable experience. Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’, the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World. This breathtaking oasis provides a haven for both predators and prey to live among grasslands, fresh springs, and the large soda lake. Large herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope, and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun.
Optional: Visit the Olduvai Gorge at an extra fee for the museum.
After breakfast, we shall depart for Arusha arriving in the afternoon. On arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel/airport.
