David Sheldrick, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum
Nairobi is the capital and largest city in Kenya, also known as “the green city under the sun”. During this tour will visit the following: David Sheldrick (elephant orphanage), Giraffe centre, Karen Blixen museum.
Elephant Orphanage:
You will be picked up from the hotel and head to David Sheldrick wildlife trust which is located within Nairobi National park and the sanctuary cares for orphaned baby elephants. The Centre is open to public for 1hour (1100hrs – 1200); the baby elephants are brought from national park for mud-bath at the orphanage and you get to watch them being fed by the handlers and sometimes you can touch them. The private session is between 1500hrs to 1600hrs, each day which allows you to interact with the animals privately, this requires advanced booking.
Giraffe Centre:
From the elephant orphanage we head to giraffe centre, another sanctuary that cares for the endangered Rothschild giraffe. The Giraffe Centre offers visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with these friendly giants. Here, visitors can feed giraffes from a treetop platform, walk a nature trail to the Gogo River, and learn about wildlife conservation at the on-site nature center.
Karen Blixen:
You can never go wrong with history when its Karen Blixen museum the home of the famous Danish author of Out of Africa who lived in a coffee plantation farmhouse at the edge of Ngong Hills,where this museum celebrates her life and work. Most of her original furniture has been preserved, a glimpse of colonial-era home
