Safari Overview
Day :- Nairobi – Maasai Mara Game Reserve (265 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
Early in the morning, you will be picked up in Nairobi by a guide to depart to Maasai Mara and provide a briefing on your safari. Travel time to Mara will take around 5-6 hrs. Along the way, there will be a stopover at the Great Rift Valley where you can take photos of the sheer drop of the Rift Valley, as well as the nearby Suswa Ranges and Mount Longonot. Maasai Mara reserve is famous for its wildlife abundance, it is home to the Big Five and one of the highest concentrations of predators not forgetting the great migration which is the most famous wildlife spectacle in the world. You will arrive in the Mara in time for lunch at your lodge, which will be followed by an afternoon game drive till evening.
Day :- Full day exploring Maasai Mara Game Reserve
After breakfast, set off for a morning game drive to witness the animal kingdom at its most active hour, search for the park’s large populations of wildebeest, rhinoceros, buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, cheetahs, zebras, Impalas, gazelles, hartebeest, warthogs, ostrich, Topi and Masai Giraffes among others. In the afternoon, an optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged (an entrance fee of 20 USD is not included in the package). Here you will be welcomed by the locals singing and dancing, a sacred ritual that has formed their rich tradition. Part of the tour includes a glimpse of their local homes and way of life.
Day :- Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park (300 km – 5 to 6 hrs)
We will start the day with an early morning game drive and return to the lodge for breakfast. After this, we will depart for Lake Nakuru National park located in the Great Rift Valley. Lake Nakuru is home to a stunning flock of lesser and greater Flamingos, turning the lakeshores in to a magnificent pink stretch. The park has diverse species of over 400 birds such as White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets, and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa where you can see the White and Black Rhino and rare Rothschild’s Giraffe.
Day :- Lake Nakuru – Amboseli National Park (384 km – 7 hrs)
The day starts with an early morning breakfast and game drive in Lake Nakuru en route Amboseli national park. Arrive in time for lunch and have a little rest before going out on an afternoon game drive animals within the park which is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and open plains. Animals likely to be seen are lions, elephants, buffalo, cheetah, antelopes, zebra, giraffe among many others. Mount Kilimanjaro also offers a scenic background for animal photography.
Day :- Full Day exploring Amboseli National Park
We will set off early to see the magnificent view of Mount Kilimanjaro and set off for another extensive game drive before the clouds build up over the summit. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife such as Wildebeest, Giraffes, and Baboons. An optional visit to a Masai village can be arranged after breakfast. Maasai warriors are also known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals have spread across the world.
Day :- Amboseli – Nairobi (250 km – 4 to 5 hrs)
Early morning game drive, return to the lodge/camp for breakfast, and prepare for check out, depart for the Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon.
