Safari Overview
Then, take a walk in the indigenous forest with a guide who will identify the plants and explain how they are traditionally used. Look out for the Colobus monkeys and wander in the gardens which are home to a wide variety of birds and flowers.
Experience a wonderful day out in the tea farms of Kiambethu. Excellent vegetarian lunch and delicious homemade eggless ice cream. The walk in the forest is lovely. This is a perfect getaway outside of Nairobi. About 45-60 minutes from the Wetlands area it is situated in the highlands where tea farming is common. It’s a tea farm too. The proprietor invites you into their home, shares about the tea farming process, send you on a farm tour, and then welcomes you back with a fresh lunch made from ingredients locally farmed.
Return to the house to enjoy a pre-lunch drink on the verandah with sweeping views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills. Enjoy your three-course buffet lunch from a set menu prepared with vegetables from the garden and desserts topped with cream from the herd of Channel Island cows; you will then be dropped at your Nairobi Hotel or residents.
